The ‘Birther’ Issue Is Not An Issue Anymore
In 2008, when Obama was running for his first term, Donald Trump requested that he release his birth certificate. Controversy surrounded the topic of where he was born, and releasing a birth certificate should seem like a logical way to settle the issue.
Because of that simple request, Trump was labeled a racist. He was painted very negatively by the media for looking for answers to a controversial question.
Recently, during his own run for President, Trump was asked about the “birther” issue again, to which he replied,
“Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it. I finished it. You know what I mean. President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again.”
Hillary Clinton viciously attacked Obama during that Presidential race, and she was the first to allege that he may not have been born in the United States. Whether the birth certificate is real or not, one got released, proving Trump only finished what she started. Her former campaign manager even admits it.
CNN’s John King remarked,
“I really don’t quite know what to make of that except for that we got played again by the Trump campaign, which is what they do.”
Donald Trump is too much for the media to handle, and he is the best at showing them for what they really are. They try time and time again to humiliate him or catch him in a lie or inconsistency. However, he knows their game and plays it well.
