Hillary’s Fee Was Too High, But Chelsea Agreed to Do It for Just $1,083 a Minute
Hillary wants what for a quick little talk?
Get Chelsea on the phone, I heard she “only” charges $65,000.
That apparently was the thinking of the people at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
They needed a celebrity speaker to headline their gala luncheon to open a women’s hall of fame. Hillary Rodam Clinton topped their wish list.
Hillary was out of their price range, so they nabbed Chelsea.
Yes, believe it or not, Chelsea commands $65,000 to speak for 10 minutes, answer moderated questions for another 20 minutes, and then pose for photos for a half an hour. Then she’s in her limo and off to catch her private jet back to her $10 million apartment in Manhattan.
The university paid $65,000 for Chelsea Clinton’s brief appearance Feb. 24, 2014, a demonstration of the celebrity appeal and marketability that the former and possibly second-time first daughter employs on behalf of her mother’s presidential campaign and family’s global charitable empire.
More than 500 pages of e-mails, contracts and other internal documents obtained by The Washington Post from the university under Missouri public record laws detail the school’s long courtship of the Clintons.
Is this the fiscally responsible way for a university to draw attention to its women’s hall of fame? Why not have actually successful women graduates of the university speak… for free?
Even though this move to hire Chelsea gets them national press, how does it really help them? The press is all about the Clintons and Chelsea. The mention of the women’s hall of fame is simply a footnote.
Seems the $65,000 plus the countless hours spent in arranging and accommodating the Clinton demands could have gone a long way in establishing a scholarship fund for future women hall of famers?
Stop paying the Clinton speaking extortion fees and do something meaningful and lasting with the funds.
