Jim Carrey Supports Kathy Griffin
Comedian Jim Carrey has no problem defending a photo of Kathy Griffin holding the fake, bloodied head of President Donald Trump. In fact, he went so far as to call it “art.”
According to People magazine, Carrey took time of out his day to talk about the disgusting photo while being interviewed at the premiere of his Showtime series “I’m Dying Up Here.”
When asked what he thought about Griffin’s gruesome photo, Carrey shocked both liberals and conservatives when he said, “I don’t think the joke is the problem. It’s not really important.”
In fact, Carrey said he didn’t think Griffin went far enough. “Hold up a severed leg as well,” he quipped, casually inciting violence against the president of the United States.
Griffin has lost endorsement deals and even her job on CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve show because of the picture, which stirred outrage from both ends of the political spectrum.
But Carrey doesn’t think the issue is all that serious.
