Kentucky Clerk Jailed – Here’s the Point Everyone Is Missing

Seems it’s difficult to separate emotions from logic.

Faith and facts become blurred.

Here’s the thing:

The jailing of  Kentucky, Rowan County Clerk, Kim Davis illustrates what makes the United States exceptional.

Our country’s Founders had the wisdom to form a Perfect Union. They gave us a New Nation built upon a foundation of Faith and a deep understanding of the facts of human nature.

Allen West eloquently explains the point everyone is missing:

And so it begins. Sadly, it seems America has truly forgotten the intent of Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury (CT) Baptist Convention on the subject of separation of church and state. It was Jefferson’s intent to not have in America a head of state who was also head of church, ala King Henry VIII and the establishment of the Church of England.

Jefferson didn’t want the state to establish religion that would lead to state persecution of religious freedom — the reason why the Pilgrims came to America. That’s why the First Amendment to our US Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” In America, the citizen has the freedom of religion; the state can’t institute an atmosphere of freedom from religion.

And so I find it rather interesting that in Kentucky, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis found herself spending last night in jail for her religious belief. And spare me comparisons to segregation. Blacks were granted rights by way of the 13th-15th Amendments, and it was the Democrat party who sought to deny them.

Kim Davis made a stand as a new Christian.

Will fellow Brothers and Sisters join and support her?

            An “opinion” by five liberals on the 9-member SCOTUS is NOT “the law.” The LAW is the U.S. Constitution–and the individual Constitutions of the various States. Ms Davis did NOT “violate the law.” She, in fact, FOLLOWED the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky which contains a Constitutional provision FORBIDDING “gay marriage.”

It deals with the “Supremacy Clause” and it says basically No State may make a law that conflicts with, enhances, or in any way conflicts with the decision of a higher court that has jurisdiction over the case and court and you can’t get any higher than the US Supreme Court at least not in man’s law! So structure we need, structure we have; adhere to it; as it is the law! It clearly says that the three branches of the federal government are “co-equal.” Secondly, Kentucky State law CANNOT be “preempted” by a USSC decision UNLESS said law conflicts with the Constitution…and this one doesn’t since the Constitution never even MENTIONS the word “marriage,” let alone gives the federal government authority over it. (Read the 10th Amendment sometime.) Thirdly, in the matter of “marriage law” gays have ALWAYS been treated PRECISELY the same (equally) as heterosexuals. Any gay may marry any consenting adult, not a close relative, of the opposite sex who’ll have them…JUST like anyone else can. Since there is no “inequality,” the Constitution hasn’t been violated.

            time there was no law, no supreme court ruling, or a federal judge
            ruling for gay marriages, and was not part of her contract or job. She

The same ruling was applicable to a Catholic police officer assigned on duty to protect an abortion clinic from illegal threats made then by some. Then lets see what happens if your child is threatened at her school from a terrorist bomb maker but it was a christian school other than one of the terrorists liking.             Most of you have missed the point on Kim Davis, the court does not make rules or policy the can make a ruling but it must go before congress to become law. So by their own laws, the court broke the law and the judge that put Kim in jail broke the law. This ruling is not law and this entire mess should never had happened, the only reason it did is because the gay agenda is not for special treatment and marriage, people live together all the time, it is to take away our religion freedoms. Also, you will not find anything in the constitution where it applies that’s its legal for two men to marry.The US Supreme Court Justices can’t just make up laws and than put them on the books to be enforced. The five lawyers on the Supreme Court who created a “right” to same-sex “marriage” did so without constitutional authority and have thus created legal chaos.         BO, hold the thought, Then why did the teacher in the PUBLIC middle school in Spring Hill, Tennessee who happened to be a democrat, asked the class to write a religion assignment,asking them to use ALLAH instead God?? Why in the class? Why is it in a public school?? It is not a private school!! Teacher retains the right to First Amendment in the end.. Who asked the teacher for the permission to do that in class??           I know about that assignment. The teacher was not trying to convert anyone. The idea behind it was to get the class to see that fact that there are different points of view in the world and how changing one word in s statement can change how people react to it. It was Patrick Henry with his great speeches and lectures, his wisdom, who in 1788 forced the agreement that promised that continued the ramifications of Bills of Rights, freedoms and religion. In 1790, It led George Washington to realize that seeing the weakness in U.S constitution, it needed to add into second constitution to have the safeguards against tyranny that can brought on by public officials and the direct and responsibility of the people to guard against tyranny from within the government- To make enough signatures, with Patrick Henry’s pal Thomas Jefferson’s help, convinced others to make it possible to protect the interest of United States citizens with the rights. Then Thomas Jefferson as being president, he was a different kind President. Thomas Jefferson made sure to see that many common men ( average American) have their liberties.. but doesn’t want anyone tell him how to decide upon religion, he rather deal with it between him and God himself. That’s what classical liberal interpreted as Church and State governing.. It does not mean not having the faith into government at that time.. Thomas Jefferson did not want the judgments being cloud on the duty.. Wrote letters to the convention of Baptists and Quakers regarding how he felt about it.

            Now second, allowed to say Allah instead God because not allowed to say God, What does it make the difference?? Why say Allah?? Sounds like its okay to talk about Allah just because the situations dealing the Middle East?? To brain wash the youngsters to be sure they wont respond negatively to Muslim’s belief with the politically correct going on. Not okay to talk about God?? Make no sense..

            Third, If parents want their kids to have multi religion perceptions/ comparison/differences, then unknown about it and without the consent would be the violation of their rights. Apparently in Spring Hill, Tenn, many parents were outraged, because they were not on the same page as teacher, the worse feeling not being asked for their permission from teacher. Sound like they didn’t want their children to learn about the religion or anything in forms of different views of any religion and it does not matter if teacher was not trying to covert them or not.. Respect is much needed for many parents..

            Fourth, if parents want their children to have the understanding of world religion or to have the religion installed in one of daily basis in their lives, and with that often send them to private schools. For one, like me sending my boys to Christian school. I put them in there to protect them from peer pressure because I had lots of humiliation experience being deaf going to public school when I was younger.. I did not expect the political correctness gets worse, I feel bad for boys generation. Anyway, many universities often offer the courses of World Religion. College students are old enough to make the decisions to decide if their interest to learn about them or not..

            One other point making Children recite the ritual prayer for conversion has been one of Islam’s gaols for centuries. They believe that once you recite that ritual prayer you are giving yourself over to Islam. This is not hearsay this is a firm belief of the Islamic religion. In Fact by reciting it you are stating that you accept Islam as the one true religion. Further to recant refuse this ritual is grounds for death in most Arab countries for Muslims. Parents need to be educated exactly what these teachers are having their students recite and its implications

        The FACT is Kim Davis’ name was on the marriage certificate, and the county wouldn’t take her name off. Selling a donut to a gay person, is not the same as issuing a marriage license (with your name as the county clerk) when you personally believe it is a sin to condone such a union. The FACTS are, that judges can’t make laws, the legislature makes laws, and this has never gone through the legislature, but even if it had, the law would have changed after she was already county clerk, and she can decline to have her name on a marriage license, if it violates her religious beliefs, that IS the 1st Amendment. The FACT is, the county violated Kim Davis’ 1st Amendment right of freedom of religion, by not taking her name off the license.

            What Obama is doing is bankrupting the Social Security trust fund by increasing the debt to unheard of and obnoxious limits which we will never be able to pay off. “If the Federal debt gets to big, then we might indeed be justified in worrying about the ability of future taxpayers to make good on the special bonds in the Social Security Trust Fund. So the real issue is the growing level of overall federal debt and whether it can be repaid by future taxpayers.”
            So while Obama tells everyone how the deficit is lower he and his corrupt and insane spend crazy administration continue to run the money presses and bankrupt our nation. I guess it’s okay with you that Obama has increased our debt more than the past 3 presidents combined and is willing to saddle our children, their children and their children’s children with a debt they may never be able to pay. And then you can explain to them how it was everyone else’s fault but yours for not stopping the corrupt president for giving away our money to criminals, terrorists and illegal invaders.

This is a state law, abiding by a federal law, set by the constitutionality proof of the Supreme Court. As far as being constitutional, it only has to follow the guidelines of the constitution with any laws made after the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Not all laws, are part of the Bill of Rights, so it has to follow the intent. I think that is why the Supreme Court could decide. I am not a lawyer by that is what makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is corporations being people, where they came up with that one, I’d like to know, but that is a different subject.

Living wills and Advance Directives have been around for over 15 years. These are legal papers for a person to sign about what THEY want to happen if they can no longer have the ability to decide for themselves what to do. They can decide who they want to represent their last wishes or who is to make the decisions on the last decisions. It is all up to the PATIENT, not a panel making a decision. So who is stating a false hood. The right is trying to scare people AGAIN in believing that Obama has a Panel to decide who will live and who will die, FALSE it is LIE, again.

Reversed Bush Torture Policies: Two days after taking office, nullified Bush-era rulings that had allowed detainees in U.S. custody to undergo certain “enhanced” interrogation techniques considered inhumane under the Geneva Conventions. Improved America’s Image Abroad: With new policies, diplomacy, and rhetoric, reversed a sharp decline in world opinion toward the U.S. (and the corresponding loss of “soft power”) during the Bush years. Tightened Sanctions on Iran: In effort to deter Iran’s nuclear program, signed Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act (2010) to punish firms and individuals who aid Iran’s petroleum sector. In late 2011 and early 2012, coordinated with other major Western powers to impose sanctions aimed at Iran’s banks and with Japan, South Korea, and China to shift their oil purchases away from Iran.

          22. Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants: New EPA restrictions on mercury and toxic pollution, issued in December 2011, likely to lead to the closing of between sixty-eight and 231 of the nation’s oldest and dirtiest coal-fired power plants. Estimated cost to utilities: at least $11 billion by 2016. Estimated health benefits: $59 billion to $140 billion. Will also significantly reduce carbon emissions and, with other regulations, comprises what’s been called Obama’s “stealth climate policy.”

          36. Invested Heavily in Renewable Technology:As part of the 2009 stimulus, invested $90 billion, more than any previous administration, in research on smart grids, energy efficiency, electric cars, renewable electricity generation, cleaner coal, and biofuels.

Crafting Next-Generation School Tests: Devoted $330 million in stimulus money to pay two consortia of states and universities to create competing versions of new K-12 student performance tests based on latest psychometric research. New tests could transform the learning environment in vast majority of public school classrooms beginning in 2014.

Thanks partly to this transparency, board has uncovered very little fraud, and Web site has become national model: “The stimulus has done more to promote transparency at almost all levels of government than any piece of legislation in recent memory,” reports Governing magazine.

          44. Pushed Broadband Coverage: Proposed and obtained in 2011 Federal Communications Commission approval for a shift of $8 billion in subsidies away from landlines and toward broadband Internet for lower-income rural families.

The true U3 unemployment figure is over 12%. All the stimulus did was waste money. It has nothing to do with private industry creating jobs, it’s the economy stupid.
            Reform = Red Tape that has stifled any kind of recovery because big government espoused by the liar-in-chief means big control of everything. The government has not created one single manufacturing job or any other kind of job that produces anything. It’s one big paperwork factory that spends some of our tax money on idiotic ideas. The military is their responsibility and Obama has decimated that.

            If you are Catholic, you should remember the parable of the workers in the vineyard. It doesn’t matter how long you have been following Christ, as long as you are a true believer before you die (and none of us know the day or the hour for that). As for “who we love” you should also consider that you may love your father or your child more than anyone else in the world, yet you can’t “marry” them. I am Catholic too and I know God’s Word on this subject. He called the homosexual lifestyle an “abomination” and warned us of the consequences. To believe in His Word, does not mean we are “judging.” He has already passed that judgement. If we truly love someone who, according to God, is in extreme danger, how is it “loving” to just smile and pretend everything is fine?

            I am Catholic and I have a sister that is gay and remember all the years she lived in the closet has a daughter and a grandson and she is great at being a mother and a grandma. We have different fathers and her dad disowned her when she finally came out. I remember sitting on the curb with her as she told me about her self and I am so proud of her because today she is finally happy. Her dad realized that is who she is. We have the same mother and she always loved her. She is free now to be who she is and on that curb I realized she always knew who she was and she is one of the greatest people in my life that I love and respect. She was born that way her daughter is married and had two moms and her grandson had to grandma’s and they are doing fine in their own skin no issues no problems. No drugs no questions about who they are so for all of you that think being gay is a sin I learned it is not and I don’t have to pretend everything is fine it is and they are a healthy family with values and are a real family. We don’t judge and nobody should judge because you may be face with that issue some where down the road. Everyone in my straight life loves my sister for who she is and if any of you knew her you would feel the same way and get over the insanity of prejudice not what God had in mind. People read the Bible and make up there own meaning of what the bible says. My God is a good God and loves all that believe in him regardless of gender, sexuality, color or religion.

Once we had an openly religious country, where we said the Lord’s Prayer in school every morning, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag every day. From the time the atheist staged their revolts of our religion and made it impossible for us to continue, was the beginning of the downfall of this country and being able to unite under God. It has just gotten worse with each generation. Now we have this. As far as the government is concerned if you work for them you can not contribute to a political campaign, you can not even show any signs displaying your political choice. It is very strict. They take separation of church and state very seriously because of the atheist since that is why all the religious symbols had to be removed from the buildings. If there are any religious symbols in that building they probably need to be removed because I think they are not looking at that laws changing regarding the atheist change with religious objections – they are just looking at the Constitution itself.

            You do not understand humans very well. I am soooo supportive of gays. My son is gay. But – I recall discussing with my priest the mean nature of nuns and he explained the background and it made sense. Those who are coming from childhood to religious life are NOT emotionally mature, and they do horribly childish things throughout their lives. Now that religious minded people enter as adults and not children, those tendencies will disappear.

            And, the Pope is working at holding them accountable. Just as police have been free to exhibit their racial bias against blacks because they were protected by the system, so the same was the situation for religious, and the Pope is saying no more, they will be held accountable. He is getting the Catholic Church back to what Christ wanted one small step at a time.

In His Word He has already spoke out against all sin, He even names the sin so we don’t have to wonder what a sin is in. His Word does specifically name the sin of “laying (committing a sexual act) with another person of like gender. This Word says that a man may NOT lay with another man.             I worked in the school system for many years myself, and I do know that teachers are not always accurate. There are wonderful teachers and there are some who are pathetic and I am grateful they were not supposedly teaching my children. So, I will explain that I did not say there were no references to gays in the Bible. I said that theologians have said that GOD DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT GAYS, just man speaking from his biases. That is quite a different thing. Let me say again – Not everything in the Bible comes from the mouth of God but rather fallible man, which is why we must not take everything in the Bible verbatim but must use common sense in interpreting many parts of it. GOD MADE GAYS – it is NOT A CHOICE and intelligent people see that.

      I would applaud her if she resigned because of her convictions, knowing that she could not in good conscience do what is legal because it goes against her beliefs.     The Constitution is being dumped on as there is no words separation of church and state anywhere in the Constitution, no law that says homosexual could marry and people wonder why this nation is going to hell in a hand basket.

    The “issue” that is being ignored is this: The feds have NO AUTHORITY in the realm of marriage…period. They CERTAINLY don’t have the authority to somehow add “sexual preferences” to anything in the Constitution or its Amendments without passing an Amendment themselves to do so. The 13th through 15th Amendments were SPECIFICALLY intended to prevent Democrats from denying rights to former slaves…period…so, unless a gay man or woman today was once a slave with American government approval, as was the case prior to the passage of the 13th through 15th, none of them are covered by ANY of those Amendments. If the 13th through 15th were INTENDED to include “all persons” in the US, why did Congress and the country find it necessary to pass additional Amendments declaring Native Americans, WOMEN and those between the ages of 18 and 21 full citizens eligible to vote?

    The Supreme Courts duty is to render whether any law passed by a federal entity is constitutional. Their job is not to make law. Marriage is not a constitutional issue; it is a states issue. People have been trying to chip away at the Constitution for over 200 years. But getting back to gay marriage. Gays have b een living side with us straights since our ancestors were swinging in trees. If you don’t like their lifestyle don’t invite them over for dinner. People need to get over their holier than I attitudes. If you believe God then you believe that God will punish those he believes deserves it. Until then why not extend the same rights to others that we want for ourselves.

    I don’t understand why everybody is up in arms over this women for not doing her job? It is the law and we should as public workers adhere to it. And if we have position that may be confronted by this and anyone person feels it will be against some belief that they have they should remove themselves from that position or change theirs. It is not that hard. I’m a Republican from Vermont and that makes me a minority and even though I might disagree with a law, it does not give me the excuse to break it and cost the state money over my personal feelings.
    I say make her pay for all the jail time and maybe that will stop these zealous misguided souls from taking jobs that they know will be trouble. I’m sick of paying for some else beliefs. Stop the madness or change the law.
    If we as people had of given in to the debate at the time we would not have same sex marriage, but no we had to persecute them and then they took it to higher level and now you fools have more problems than you bargained for.
    You should always be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it and it may not turn out like you planned

    What you’re really saying is that the Christian religion should take priority over the law. If a Muslim County Clerk refused to issue a business license to a bar or restaurant that serves alcohol because drinking alcohol is against the Muslim religion you would all be screaming at the top of your lungs for them to be fired or jailed. What if the County Clerk in your county was a member of a church that strictly forbids hunting or any type of weapons? Does that clerk have the right to refuse to issue hunting licenses or concealed carry permits? Of course they don’t. It’s the same principle… just different religions.

    No one is infringing upon Kim Davis’ religious freedom. She has a right to any religious belief she chooses… but she doesn’t have the right to put those beliefs above her duties as an elected official or to defy a Supreme Court ruling just because she doesn’t agree with it.

    The principle here is simple: If you’re a vegan then don’t work at a slaughterhouse! If you believe every word of the Bible… including the passage that says anyone who works on Sunday is to be put to death… then don’t get a job that requires you to work on a Sunday! If you believe that marriage is between a man and a woman then don’t work where you have to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples! Kim Davis has the right to resign or to allow her deputy clerks to issue same sex marriage licenses. If she doesn’t do one or the other of those things I hope they throw her sorry butt back in jail and throw away the key!

We choose to do right, or to do wrong. Without free will we would be nothing more than a puppet on a string, and definitely most intelligent people can see that.
    I have been called wrong, Arcadic, a dinosaur, a Bible Thumper, a Jesus Lover, and a sin hater. I imagine that I have been called names that I have no knowledge of. Yet, whatever I am called by others, I will still be respectful and continue to believe that the entire Bible is literally the inspired Word of God sent to a sinful race in need of instruction and redemption, which can only come by recognizing that we are sinners and come short of the glory of God.     Davis did NOT spend time in jail for her religious belief. No one, let alone the judge, cares what her religious beliefs are. She was jailed for contempt of court, for defying a direct order to issue marriage certificates to those lawfully entitled to them. She could have complied or she could have resigned or she could have allowed her assistants do it. Instead she chose to defy the court and to deny others their legal right to marry. Jail has always been the place for those who defy the law.

    When it comes down to it, whether one or the other is right, won’t matter, so for those of you who are Christians why not save an argument and start praying for God’s will to be done and trust that the Lord is still in control no matter how the current situation may appear. And for those of you who are secular that’s your choice, however, I would ask you to consider not for any religious reason or even love of your neighbor, or for yourself, as to whether you really want only one branch of government deciding what would be law and what wouldn’t, say for instance in a couple of years we are given new members on the supreme court and they the (majority) vote that it is legal for a person to marry a child of fourteen or younger? Would that be something you could accept just because the supreme court says so and has the “final say”? Or maybe you currently have no children and so are not affected by such a ruling then just replace it with an idea that you would find going contrary to your personal beliefs, would you still want the supreme court or our central government deciding what is right for you and be relieved of your personal responsibilities as a citizen? Maybe you would prefer a survival of the more ruthless or immoral as a guide for living in society because there are already places where this was or is the law of the land. finally ask yourself where will it all end? Or will mankind continue to become more and more corrupted until he has destroyed himself completely and all for the lack of self-control! On a more personal note I ask you are you so absolutely sure that there is no God or that worshipping a demon (false god) is the same thing and are you willing to continue betting your own soul and eternity on that assumption?

    Most of you have missed the point on Kim Davis, the court cannot make
    rules or policy the can make a ruling but it must go before congress to
    become law. So by their own laws, the court broke the law and the judge
    that put Kim in jail broke the law. This ruling is not law and this
    entire mess should never had happened, the only reason it did is because
    the gay agenda is not for special treatment and marriage, people live
    together all the time, it is to take away our religion freedoms. The
    homosexuals think their perceived rights trump the rights of others. Obama has a great deal to do with this he has been trying to take our rights away from the start of his tyranny in office.     same-sex marriage, is worried he’s been issuing invalid marriage
    licenses, according to papers filed in federal court.

    When Davis returned to work last Monday, she reiterated her
    opposition to gay marriage but said she wouldn’t prevent her deputies
    from issuing licenses to such couples — as long as those documents
    didn’t carry her name or title.

    Davis may have gone further than that, the lawyer for deputy Rowan
    County court clerk Brian Mason said in an update report Friday to a
    federal judge.

    Davis replaced the old marriage license forms with forms that don’t
    carry her name, the name of the county or any reference to a clerk or
    deputy clerk, said Mason’s lawyer, Richard Hughes.

    Kim Davis did not go to jail because of her religion. she went to jail for contempt of court. The fact that she is trying to hide her bigotry behind her “religion” is irreverent. The court said that same sex marriage is the law of the land, under the equal protection clause. When she refused to follow the supreme court decision, she set her self up for what she got.

    As much as the religaholics try to make it a religious issue, is is not. It is just contempt of court.

    Personally, I think she should still be in jail.

    One must remember that Jefferson was from Virginia, that during colonial days had a law which demanded everyone to attend church on Sundays. Jefferson hated that, and for this reason he would attend a Baptist church, rather than the Church of England. Also, that is why he was in favor and pushed for the first amendment, that forbade Congress to establish an oficial religion in the USA. People should read their American history more carefully, and quit making all sorts of idiotic statetments about what Jefferson believed, or was in favor of.
