Trans Soldier Throws A Fit

A prominent transgender airman pushed back against President Trump’s announcement Wednesday to ban transgender people from serving in the military, saying he’s determined to continue serving in the Air Force.

“I would like to see them try to kick me out of my military,” Staff Sgt. Logan Ireland told the Air Force Times. “You are not going to deny me my right to serve my country when I am fully qualified and able and willing to give my life.”

Transgender troops have been able to serve openly since summer 2016, when the Obama administration lifted the ban. They also receive coverage for any treatment deemed medically necessary by their doctors, including surgery and hormone therapy.

Trump in his Wednesday morning tweets appeared to reverse the entire policy, though it is unclear how his announcement will affect transgender individuals already serving in the Armed Forces.

Ireland, a security forces airman who served in Afghanistan, gained notoriety in 2015 when The New York Times documentary “Transgender, at War and in Love” told the story of him and his spouse, Army Cpl. Laila Villanueva, a transgender woman.

“For the president to deny an able-bodied, fully qualified person the inherent right to raise their right hand and serve their country, potentially giving their own life for our freedoms, is doing this country an injustice,” Ireland told the Air Force Times.

Serving in the military is not a right, and not an institution for a social experiment. Military dollars are best spent on weapons than on sex change surgery.

Of course, but there is no reason to tell anyone about your sexual behavior! That is why Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell worked so well! Just keep this to yourself, serve your country, but just keep the private sex stuff between you and your loved ones. The rest of us do not need to know! And the government should not pay for your personal choices of sex changes – again that is personal choice!

The military should not pay for any medical related to the Transgendered. No sex changes, no hormones, etc. That way the transgendered could serve all they want.

Now let me see if I got it right. If both are trangenders, it means some piece of flesh just moved from between two legs, on another home, between other two, without changing the ZIP code! Wouldn’t be cheaper, faster, and more convenient if they just changed their IDs, and keep it private? Afterall, what happens in somebody’s bedroom is nobody’s else problem…

NO, taxpayer money for elective cosmetic surgery, elective gender modifying hormone treatment or confirming mental health counseling. If this mental illness can be treated and or cured that should be completed before enlistment or commissioning. If this mental health issue is discovered it should rule them out of military service. There are many health and mental health issues that rule people out of service. Of course they can and should arm themselves in case of natural emergencies.

They should be required to complete their service contract as the same sex they were joined as.
