Trump interviewed Romney to ‘torture’ him

Former advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, Roger Stone, suggested in a recent interview that Trump’s meeting with former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney was for purposes less than wholesome.

According to The Hill, Stone appeared on InfoWars on Sunday in order to give some insight into the Trump/Romney meeting.

“Donald Trump was interviewing Mitt Romney for secretary of State in order to torture him,” Stone said on conspiracy theory website InfoWars. “To toy with him. And given the history, that’s completely understandable. Mitt Romney crossed a line. He didn’t just oppose Trump, which is his democratic right, he called him a phony and a fraud. And a con man. And that’s not the kind of man you want as Secretary of State.”

Romney was one of the names on Trump’s “short list” for the job of Secretary of State, and according to reports was the one likely to get the job. However, if what Stone is saying is true, then this was all a cruel prank on Romney to rub his face in Trump’s win.
